A trip to Darjeeling - A visit to a tea plantation

Darjeeling is famous for the tea it produces. The tea industry was set up by the Brits in the 19th Century.

The tea plants surrounding Darjeeling originally came from China and produce the following varieties:

First flush (harvested in mid-March)

Second flush (harvested in June)

Monsoon (harvested during the monsoon season)

Autumn (harvested in Autumn)

We took the opportunity to visit a tea plantation (Puttabong Tukvar) a few kilometres out of Darjeeling.
